Feed Screw Software

The FLOW 2000TM, Extruder module is used for the analysis and design of single screw extruders. The program is capable of simulating the performance of virtually any screw design from relatively simple, compression screws to more elaborate, multi-flighted, screw designs with multiple mixing sections. There are also vent sections that can be used to design screws that are used for materials that require de-gassing or moisture removal. Whether the FLOW 2000TM, Extruder module is used for the development of new screws or the optimization of existing designs, the user friendly, intuitive, interface allows you to create, test and optimize many designs quickly and efficiently.

The FLOW 2000TM, 3D FEM module has been developed with the extrusion process engineer in mind. The many features of the 3D FEM module allow the user to perform a detailed study of a complex flow field relatively quickly and efficiently. Equipment manufacturers and advanced processors use this module for developing and analyzing new extrusion screw and die designs. This module has also been used to investigate and explain certain flow phenomena such as layer encapsulation in flat die coextrusion systems. The advanced particle tracking feature can be used to determine the initial layer distribution of a coextrusion structure so that the correct final distribution is achieved. This, for example, can help reduce the amount of virgin skin material that may be required in a coextruded profile.

TXS Twin-Screw Extrusion Simulation Software by PolyTech
Virtual Compounding is here! TXS is a personal computer software package for process simulation and analysis of polymer processing operations in corotating, intermeshing modular twin-screw extruders. TXS simulates all the steps in the process: solids conveying, melting, mixing, melt conveying and pressurization in realistic settings with multiple feed and vent ports. The most recent version of TXS can accommodate up to three solid fillers and up to three liquid additives. The extruder database currently holds specifications for approximately 50 commercial machines. Click on the console buttons above to explore the capabilities of TXS
